God is Omnipotent

It sounds like Kevin did a great job with this topic on the 2nd. He was assigned the story of Jesus' raising Jairus' daughter, but he went ahead and told it in context, interwoven with the story of the hemorrhaging woman. Not a problem. If I am following his game rules properly, everyone stood bunched together except for one child as "Jairus' daughter", and one as "Jesus" on the other side of the bunch. "Jesus" had to push his way through the crowd without getting tagged (having a label stuck on) by a blindfolded person in the crowd, in order to "win" the game by getting to the sick girl before she died. For a craft, they made "Jesus' garment of power" by coloring paper in any design, folding it over & cutting a hole for a collar, & attaching tassels on the bottom. Bible study was on Acts 4:10-12

This past Sunday, we had a picnic at a local park. Sang several of our songs, & played some "old" games with brief review of the stories the games were representing. Then ate & played on the playground equipment. Not our most effective evangelistic endeavor (we were disappointed that no one invited any new friends—I myself tried but failed on our half-day back in Macau Saturday afternoon), but everyone seemed to enjoy the morning & we're glad for that. It was so very nice for me not to have to worry about any kind of preparations while we were vacationing. I confess I did a teeny-weeny bit of planning ahead for the next unit, which will be a short one on the "I ams" of Jesus.

Looking forward to being back in the routine this coming Sunday, with the story of Achan on the topic of "God is Holy."
